The ‘swimming prop’ Rupert Allhusen and his former Richmond team mate Ben Leigh are taking on the famous 20 Bridges Swim, a 28.5 mile swim around Manhattan island in New York to raise money for their respective charities. Read more
The Silver Hippos met Jason Leonard and the England Rugby team in Cape Town at a visit to an Atlas Foundation project. Jason established the Atlas Foundation to "raise kids out of disadvantage through the power of rugby". The Hippos were very admiring of this work and have set up this Fund to continue to support the work we saw there, and in other places around the world. Read more
Ed was a big personality who lived life to the full, was loved dearly by his family and friends, and is missed hugely by all who knew him. He was a talented sportsman who enjoyed playing both codes of rugby and cricket. Following Ed’s death in 2016, this Memorial Fund was established to honour his memory. Read more

In Memory of Matthew Jewers
Deborah Bird, known to many as Birdy, from East London Rugby Club and Silver Hippos Rugby Club, began supporting the work of the Atlas Foundation in 2018 when she saw first hand the work the Foundation does in the townships of South Africa.
Sadly on 7th August, Beryl Jones died after a short illness. Beryl (or Mum/Nana) was a truly wonderful woman who brought joy to so many around her. Her funeral will take place on 25th August in a place that she spent a lot of time documenting death markers!Beryl asked that any donations in her memory be made to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (in memory of her brother Ray) or Tanzania Rugby Development via Ed’s Fund with Bhubesi Pride/Atlas Foundation (in memory of her grandson Ed).
