I have foolishly agreed to point myself up a load of hills as part of a crack peloton of cyclists participating in this September's Deloitte Ride Across Britain. Whilst there are likely to be tears (mine) through Cornwall and Devon, I plan on excelling on the swift descents where physics will be my friend.

We are riding for the Richmond Heavies Foundation Defibrillator Fund, of which I am a trustee. The fund has just achieved the milestone of distributing the first 15 defibrillators to community rugby clubs, made possible by the insane exploits of our own Rupert Allhusen, the first prop forward to swim the English Channel last September. We are raising money to fund the second wave of these life-saving machines for clubs up and down the length of England, a number of which we will pass close by on the 980 miles in 9 days from Lands End to John O’Groats.

If you are able to support me and donate, it would be fantastic and much appreciated.
