As a club we all see the benefits of sport for our children. As a Mini’s section we all talk to the children, whatever their age, about developing the values Team Work, Effort and Respect. These are aimed at helping the children become well rounded individuals.

When we were researching which charities to support we often spoke about the power of rugby and how it can bring children from differing backgrounds together. Again, this is something that can be seen at Keynsham RFC every week. We are a club that has thrived, not struggled, since Covid and have continued to attract children from all walks of life.

We also spoke about the fact that sport can be a tool for good as an alternative to a lot of the distractions in life that children face as they grow up. With this in mind, and because I am a Police Officer, I discussed the possibility of the Matt Ratana Foundation. This is a charity that is close to my heart, and one which we as a Tour Committee strongly believe reflects and shares the values of Keynsham RFC.
