My name is Matthew Power and I am a 15 year old living in Singapore. In last couple of months, the world has gone crazy with a global pandemic that has affected us all. However, in a time of distress and uncertainty I decided to have a positive mindset. Over the last couple of months, I have trained day in and day out for the hopeful return of rugby.

As our time in lockdown came to an end, I took part in the 100k Race to the Stones Challenge with Ben Nicholson. I went into this race with doubts in my ability to complete the challenge, however despite this I completed the race in 4 days. This sparked an idea in my mind for a new and bolder challenge, a race to 200km.

Over the course of 7 days my goal is to run, walk or crawl 200km with the goal of raising funds for a great Rugby cause - Kampuchea Balopp. Kampuchea Balopp is a non-government and non-for-profit organisation situated in Cambodia. Their goal is to provide sport to disadvantaged or disabled Cambodian youths. This is an organisation close to me as I have visited Cambodia and coached and played with and against the children of KB.

As part of my race to 200k, I want to try and organise a Round the Island race on one of the days. I’m looking for like minded people and friends to help me complete the challenge. We get people to commit to run 5/10km and do it Relay Style around the Island on a chosen day. I’m hoping to get my teammates from TRC/friends of our group to join in this challenge. They were all friends/teammates of Alex Nicholson and I think this challenge would be something that he would be really up for.
