The Anita, Alex and Annabel Nicholson Memorial Fund was set up by Ben Nicholson in memory of his wife Anita, and their two children Alex and Annabel, who lost their lives in the Sri Lanka bombings on Easter Sunday last year.

Since those tragic events, over £450,000 has been raised for the Memorial Fund. The funds will be used to improve the lives and life chances of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged children in Asia.

The three key themes for selecting projects to support are:

1. Projects that promote equality of opportunity for girls;

2. Projects that support children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities;

3. Projects that use rugby as a hook to engage disadvantaged children and support personal development and education.

We visited Sri Lanka in December of last year to evaluate how best we can enact the above to help underprivileged children there.

I am running the 'Race to the Stones' 100 kilometer challenge (50K on Saturday 4 July, 50K on Sunday 5 July) with Ben and friends to help raise further funds for the Memorial Fund.

Any donations are hugely appreciated.

Thank you.
