Mixed Ability Rugby Ireland resources The Atlas Foundation supported Wooden Spoon to give special needs children the chance to train and play at the annual UK Tag Rugby championships 2016 held in Limerick, Ireland. The Garryowen Club has its own special needs team, the “Garryowen Lions” who hosted this important national event. Garryowen FC in collaboration with local Daughters of Charity Service hosted over 400 excited and committed tag rugby players from all over Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. While para sport is now widely recognised and supported, people with special needs have fewer opportunities for team sport. Manage Cookie Preferences
