On Thursday 13th December Argentinian Ambassador Carlos Sersale and Mrs Linette de Jagar welcomed Atlas to their London Residence for some traditional festive cheer.

Juan 'Chipi' Figallo

Alongside Atlas Chairman, Jason Leonard, Argentinian Prop, Juan Figallo, represented Atlas as an important Champion for our work with school children in his country. Originating from Salta, it is hoped that Atlas can extend its current All Schools programme from Buenos Aires to this inland region. Salta is a beautiful, mountainous region, but there is great poverty for a large number of children.

With traditional Argentinian Malbec, empanadas and alfajores for the guests, we were delighted to meet so many people with links to the country, personal and corporate; and to find such warmth of reception for our work.

Thank you

We are grateful particularly to the Barbarians Trust who have approved a £10k package of support which will be spent over two years, and to Mr and Mrs Brill for their personal, generous donation of £2,500 to Juan Figallo's Fund to support new work in Salta.

Others have pledged support which should provide a further £40,000 over the next few years. In total we should have sufficient to reach 2,000 boys and girls in 20 schools for three years. Watch out for more news and photos as this starts to get delivered.
