When Charlie Line ran onto the pitch at the end of the 2015 Rugby World Cup final, it was a massive act of recklessness. Incredibly, Sonny Bill Williams responded with a massive act of generosity by giving Charlie his Rugby World Cup winner's medal.

“He got smoked by the security guard, like full-on tackled. It was pretty sad. He's just a young fella obviously caught up in the moment."

Sonny Bill and Charlie have become great friends in the four years since and now are turning Sonny Bill’s amazing gesture into something more lasting and more important than one man giving one boy his World Cup Winner’s medal.

Together they have launched Gold for Good to support projects that give kids from the poorest shanty towns and slums not just food and education, but the joy of learning to playing rugby. By learning and growing through the values of the game, kids can make better life choices and start to fulfil their true potential.

It began on a rugby pitch in 2015, when Charlie was just 14 years old and Sonny Bill changed his life forever. Please support Sonny Bill and Charlie to turn those 15 minutes into a legacy that will, by using the wonderful game of rugby, save lives and lift the poorest children around the world out of poverty.

Some of the projects that Gold for Good will be supporting are in Kenya and Samoa. Charlie will be embarking on a tour of Atlas projects to gain some great quality films, still images, interview and stories to tell. He will begins in the Philippines and will work his way across projects in Malawi, South Africa, Kenya, and Memphis, ending in India. Keep an eye on our social media channels as we keep up to date with Charlie on his travels.
