News Helping communities in Cebu In December, a devastating typhoon struck Cebu in the Philippines. Local communities were hit hard, with people losing their homes and livelihoods as well as grappling with the constant struggle to get basic supplies. The Anita, Alex and Annabel Nicholson Memorial Fund and The Atlas Foundation have been in talks with Cebu Dragons rugby club long before the typhoon, working on plans to support their vital community outreach work. However, when the typhoon hit, we knew we needed to act. Through close collaboration between Atlas and the club, we are proud to have supported the local community in sourcing food parcels, face masks and hand sanitiser, helping those who needed it most. Now the immediate crisis is over, we are now looking on how we can support Cebu in the long-term. We intend to send additional support over to the community as well as actively partnering with other organisations and individuals to start the re-construction of damaged homes. Because of people like you, we have been able to help a community in need. To keep up-to-date with the latest on our work in Cebu, please subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on social media.
